2005 Photo Gallery or 2006 Photo Gallery or 2007 Photo Gallery or 2008 Photo Gallery or 2009 Photo Gallery - pictures I’ve taken on Patricia Beach. I’m always looking for more so I’d welcome other contributions if you’d like to share.
The clothing optional area of Patricia Beach is located in Patricia Beach Provincial Park.
Directions The beach is located approximately 45 minutes north of Winnipeg. Proceed north on Highway 59 on the way to Grand Beach. A few kilometers past the Brokenhead Reserve and the South Beach Casino, turn left down provincial road 319. There’s a large sign clearly identifying the turnoff for Patricia Beach Provincial Park so you can’t miss it.
From this turn it’s approximately a 7 kilometer drive down a gravel road. There’s another Patricia Beach sign you’ll come to where you’ll need to make a right turn. From there it’s a few hundred meters to the beginning of the park..
Some summers there’s a park gate in place to collect admission or check for park passes. Of the summers that I’ve been going there a gate wasn’t in place during 2005 or 2006 but it was back in 2007. Even at that, it wasn’t there for the whole summer, just the busy months. You may want to purchase a park pass just to be safe, they’re available in a lot of locations around town and cost $25. It’s good for a year and gives you access to all Manitoba provincial parks.
Once past the entrance, there’s a fair sized parking lot on the left but don’t leave your car here unless you’re willing to hike a bit. Follow the road to the right which runs along the dunes behind the beach.
Continue following the road until you come to the very last parking lot. From here it isn’t time to get naked yet but you’re close. You can either hike along the beach from this point or follow the trail through the trees. After a few minutes you’ll come to large open area of beach, this is the clothing optional area so find yourself a spot and enjoy the day. If you’re looking for something a little more private, head into the trees on the far side of the beach clearing. There’s usually a path through the trees and a bit farther in are a variety of clearings for people who are looking for a bit of privacy.
